At just 20 years of age Jess Pugh and Ben Lane are two of the most promising Badminton players in the UK and are the current English National Mixed Doubles Champions. Ben & Jess will represent Team England in the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast as they continue to make the transition from the junior game, where their achievements included:
- winning over 30 national titles aged 11 and under to present day.
- Gold medalists at the U17 European Championships
- Bronze medalists at the U19 European Championships (a year young)
- Silver medalists at the European Team Championships (U17 & U19)
Since making the transition to the senior game, Ben & Jess have competed at the World Championships, reached the quarter finals of the French Open World Super Series, narrowly losing to the pair ranked no.1 in the world, and winning the Spanish and Italian Open mixed doubles crowns. They are currently ranked 26 in the world rankings!
Ben & Jess are committed to be the best they can be and aim to finish 2018 inside the world’s top 20. They also have their sights firmly fixed on an Olympic and Commonwealth medal, as well as defending their national mixed doubles crown and being a force to be reckoned with at both the World Championships and the coveted All England Championships.
